What romantic activities can be done on Lake Como?

Here are some of the coolest activities, in my opinion, to do as a couple around the lake! The list is just a starting point from. Then of course for detailed and tailored advice you can always rely on my custom itineraries.

1. Sunset boat ride

Let me make it clear at the outset that it is not necessary to have who knows what kind of floating craft to create a good atmosphere. I personally have a small family boat, strictly rowing, which also defends itself well on these occasions.

Of course, since most rental points require you to return before sunset, an excellent alternative, unless you have a boat of your own, is to purchase one of the many private boat tours organized just at sunset. The costs are not cheap, it must be said, but if the occasion is special it can definitely be an experience to consider.

Certainly one of the absolute most romantic activities to do on Lake Como.

2. Seaplane ride

It is indeed a special experience, certainly even more unforgettable when done with someone we care about.

I have been saying it all along, ever since the first articles published on this blog, the lake must be seen from above! Usually, even a rejuvenating walk in the mountains is enough to reach crazy viewpoints, but if you really want to go overboard, doing it aboard a seaplane is priceless…and very romantic!

3. Picnic with a view

A picnic is a beautiful activity regardless, one that makes you cheerful and feel light. If organized in a place with a breathtaking view, it can also become very romantic. In addition, unlike many other experiences offered on the lake, it is also an affordable activity for everyone: all you need is a nice blanket, a soft lawn and a little imagination to arrange the menu and you’re done.

My advice is to choose a place with a view to totally amaze your better half, and here on the lake I would say you are simply spoiled for choice. I also like to go a bit high when I feel like walking, but I would say that even at the edge of the lake is not bad at all, the setting is equally up to the mark!

4. Moonlight trekking

I admit I haven’t tried it yet, alas! But for some time now there has been a proliferation of mountain hikes organized for walking in the moonlight, in some cases even in the snow. Mostly these are group hikes, but I’m sure that doesn’t take away at all from the romance that such an experience can provide.

5. Night at the lodge

Needless to say, there is nothing more romantic than a starry sky!

In this case, the idea is to observe it from one of the various huts scattered around the lake’s mountains. You take a nice day hike, have dinner there and stay overnight. This will have three advantages: you will enjoy breathtaking sunsets, get lost in the immensity of the constellations, and wake up to an unparalleled sunrise.

6. A couple’s treatment in a dream hotel

That the lake offers a choice of some of the most beautiful and luxurious hotels in the world is now known to most.

The good news is that even if you are not lucky enough to be able to stay in one of their dream rooms, you can still think about indulging in a couple’s treatment in their spas.

Indeed, if access to the spas or pools, in most cases, is forbidden to outsiders, the purchase of treatments is often allowed even to those who do not sleep in the facility. It is certainly an exclusive and unforgettable experience.
