Proposals for an holiday on Lake Como with family
Are you on holiday with your children on Lake Como? Here 6 ideas for kids and the rest of the family!
1# A place for sure great for the kids and the whole family are the Piani d’Erna. It is a mountain resort, at 1375 m altitude, just above the town of Lecco and at the foot of Mount Resegone. First of all accessible by cable car, fact by itself already very exciting for your children. But this is only the first of a thousand emotions that this place will give you! Do you want to stretch your legs doing a nice walk? Then follow the Nature Trail! Do you want to immerse yourself, in every sense, in nature? There is the multi-sensory path, enthralling experience to awaken touch, sight, hearing and taste. Do you like cycling? You will find many trails for mountain-bike suitable for everyone. But there’s more! There is also an Adventure Park, to climb trees, the Tubing, artificial turf tracks on which slide with inflatable rafts and in winter, a little higher (Piani di Bobbio) and snow permitting, facilities for skiing. Not bad, right?
2# A proposal apparently less attractive in the eyes of a child is an afternoon at the museum…but do not give up in advance whether you like it…now there are many places organized to entertain and involve the children. In Como for example the Civic Museums organize all kinds of activities: creative workshops, performances, workshops and much more. In my opinion, put like that, it does not sound so bad even to a child ;-). In fact, I’m sure will thank you !!!
#3 If you want to go without fail take it to the Toy Horse Museum. A daydream for young and old. A place that excites the imagination, fascinates and enchants.
#4 In an article a few months ago, Lake Como with younger, I had appointed the Trail of Expressions, a path populated by “creatures” carved in wood, charming and funny. Well in Canzo, between Como and Lecco, there is something similar, the Path of the Spirit of the Woods, a walk of about 45 minutes, animated animals and characters of fairy tales made of wood, to do with not too young children (at least 5 or 6 years). The walk in the woods becomes a kind of treasure hunt, looking for the hidden figures everywhere!
#5 Varenna is worth a visit in any case. It ‘such a quaint and traditional village, which did not disappoint. But “Varenna for Kids” is certainly music to the ears of parents and children who visit this pretty village in the summer. It is an initiative launched in 2015 by MateriaViva to give the answer to the many families with children who choose Varenna to spend holidays or just a weekend. There are numerous activities in program! Bilingual guided tours for children, engaging, full of fun activities, accompanying young tourists to discover the beauty of this village.
#6 Last but not least a list of events and locations offering workshops for school groups or groups of children: the Comacina Island, the Observatory Galbiga, the Environmental Education Center Proteus, the Orticolario at Villa Erba, the City of Toys in Como, the Museum of the End of the War, the Nature Reserve Pian di Spagna.
See you soon 🙂
